During the rock drilling process, the impactor is located in the submerged hole. The piston (hammer) of the impactor moves back and forth through the gas distributor (valve) towards the handle. Thus, the drill bit impacts the rock at the bottom of the hole. The high-speed rotation of the impactor in the hole is achieved through a separate rotating mechanism, either an external electric motor or an air-driven rotating device, which is connected to the rear end of the drill rod. The rock powder generated during the rock drilling process is washed away by the mixed gas of water and air. The mixed gas of water and air is injected into the impactor through the powder discharge mechanism from the center of the drill rod, entering the bottom of the hole through the air groove of the impactor cylinder, or it can be fully pneumatic. The first two options are all equipped with hydraulic oil pumps on the drilling machine body, while the fully pneumatic option does not have this. It can also be classified by application. This type is quite common, such as blasting, anchoring, well drilling machines, etc. In terms of structure, there are integrated machines or separate machines. The full name of the air compressor is air compressor; a machine designed based on the principle of generating volume changes in gas through the rotation of a double screw (also known as a male and female rotor), it can suck in natural air and complete the work through several internal processes, finally discharging compressed air that meets the pressure requirements. This machine is called a screw-type air compressor.

Work pressure, which is often requested by domestic users, refers to the maximum pressure of the air discharged from the air compressor.

Volumetric flow rate of screw air compressor:
Volume flow rate is commonly referred to as displacement by domestic users. Volume flow rate refers to the volume of gas discharged by the air compressor per unit time under the required exhaust pressure, and it is converted to the intake state.
The volumetric flow rate unit is: m³/min (cubic meters/minute) or L/min (liters/minute), and 1 m³ (cubic meter) = 1000 L (liters).
Generally, the commonly used unit of flow is: m³/min (cubic meters per minute).
The volumetric flow rate is also known as the exhaust volume or the nameplate flow rate in China.
Power of screw air compressor
Generally speaking, the power of a compressor refers to the nameplate power of the matching drive motor or diesel engine.
The unit of power is: KW (kilowatt) or HP (horsepower). 1KW ≈ 1.333HP.
Selection Guide for Screw Air Compressors
Selection of working pressure (exhaust pressure): When users are about to purchase an air compressor, they should first determine the working pressure required at the gas outlet, adding 1-2 bar as a margin. Then, they can select the pressure of the air compressor. (This margin takes into account the pressure loss from the installation location of the air compressor to the actual gas outlet pipeline. The margin is appropriately considered within 1-2 bar depending on the length of the pipeline.) Of course, the size of the pipe diameter and the number of turning points are also factors affecting the pressure loss. The larger the pipe diameter and the fewer the turning points, the smaller the pressure loss; otherwise, the pressure loss will be greater. Therefore, if the distance between the air compressor and each gas outlet pipe is too far, the diameter of the main pipe must be appropriately increased. If the environmental conditions meet the installation requirements of the air compressor and the working conditions permit, it can be installed near the gas outlet.
Volume flow selection: When choosing the volume flow of the air compressor, first understand the volume flow of all gas equipment and multiply the total flow by 1 and three maintenance items. Connect and inspect the contact and insulation resistance of the electrical components, replace the motor lubricating grease (replace every 8,000 hours) according to the equipment manual; clean the relief valve (intake valve); clean the minimum pressure valve (pressure maintaining valve); clean the return oil check valve; clean the temperature control valve; clean the cooler; clean the water and air separator; correct all parameters. Note: The above maintenance can only be carried out after confirming that the equipment is de-energized and without pressure. The steps for selecting an air compressor are: first determine the working pressure, then determine the corresponding volume flow, and finally determine the power supply capacity.
